During my time in office, I have continuously worked to speak with as many people as I can. After all, it is the feedback that I receive from members of our community that has driven much of the legislation that I have proposed over the years. While I am a strong believer in smaller government and less governmental intervention in our lives, I will never hesitate to bring legislation that makes our community a better place to live, work and raise a family. That legislation has included:

Resolution urging the Implementation of Drug testing for Medicaid Applicants and Recipients, Temporary Assistances Applications and Recipients, Food Stamps Applicants and Recipients, and Supplemental Security Income Recipients as a Prerequisite for Eligibility.


Resolution calling on New York State Legislature to Reject Governor Paterson's "Sweep" of New York Power Authority Funds as a hidden tax on Power Customers.

This resolution seeks to reverse the sweep of nearly $500 million by the State of New York from the New York Power Authority, dollars that are primarily generated at the Lewiston Hydroelectric facility. 

Support to Relocate New York Power Authority Headquarters to Niagara County.

legislation asks the New York Power Authority to initiate and investigate the relocation of NYPA’s headquarters from White Plains to Niagara County.

Authorization to commence Action Against the New York Power Authority.

This legislation authorizes Niagara County to commence legal action against the New York Power Authority in an effort to reverse the sweep of funds from NYPA by the State of New York in January and February of 2009.

In Support of New York State Hazardous Land Disposal Tax.

Because Niagara County houses the only hazardous waste landfill in the state, an excessive financial burden is placed on local municipalities. The state Senate and Assembly were considering legislation that would have assessed a $20/ton fee on all hazardous waste landfilled in the state. This resolution was to express support for the passage of that legislation at the state level. 

Resolution in Support of Funding Various Niagara County Economic Development Projects Through The use of Casino Revenue Funding.
This resolution authorized the use of casino funds to partially fund the Sanborn Area Historical Society, Artpark & the Sanborn Area Business and Professional Association. 


Niagara County Legislature Request Financial Support for Legal Action Against The New York Power Authority From Municipalities And Their Representatives Within The 30 Miles Radius of the Niagara Power Project.

This resolution sought financial assistance from neighboring municipalities in the lawsuit to reverse the sweep of NYPA funds by the State of New York.

Resolution Calling on The New York State Legislature To Restore Star Rebates.

TThis resolution called on the State of New York to restore the STAR rebate program, which was eliminated by Governor David Paterson, Assembly Leader Sheldon Silver and Senate Majority Leader Malcolm Smith.

Oppose expansion of hazard Landfill in Niagara County

This resolution asks that the Niagara County economic development policy considers the siting of additional hazardous waste landfill capacity as contrary and damaging to its goal and objectives.

Resolution Calling On New York State Legislature To Resend Increase In Agriculture And Markets Licensing Fees As Adopted In 2009-2010 New York State Budget.

This resolution calls on the state legislature to rescind all increases in the State Department of Agriculture and Markets fees impacting small businesses.

Resolution Calling On The New York State Legislature To Reject A.1275/s.1712, A Law That Would Redefine The Rules For Transfer Of Firearms Within New York State To Effectively Bar The Private Sales and Transfer of Long Guns.

This resolution was enacted to oppose a bill in the state legislature that would abridge the right of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms by redefining the transfer of firearms among private citizens.

Resolution Requesting An Inspector General Investigation of Possible New York Power Authority Code of Conduct Violation.

This resolution asks the New York State Inspector General to initiate an investigation of a possible NYPA Code of Conduct violation by a former Trustee for the Power Authority.

Resolution Urging Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo To Investigate The Fiduciary Misfeasance of Controller Thomas P. DiNapoli In Functioning As Sole Trustee Of the New York State Common Retirement Fund And Administrator Of The New York State And Local Retirement System.

This resolution asks New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo to initiate into the office of New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli and his actions in his role as the sole trustee of the New York State Common Retirement Fund and as the administrator for the New York State and Local Retirement System.
